He has also been a long-standing proponent of environmental causes, especially as it relates to ocean conservation and managing forests sustainably in his native Canada. Martin is thrilled to be teaming up with friends and family to launch both the Ocean Born Foundation as well as Ocean Beer.

Fernando Escribano

Dr in Agriculture Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and 25 years of research experience in the feed industry and academia. Fernando is a member of the Center for Research on Environmental and Agricultural Risks (CEIGRAM), convinced of the role knowledge and technology transfer play in international cooperation for the development of local communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, highly vulnerable to climate change. Recent projects include the conversion of invasive cattail into biogas and animal feed in the Nigerian Sahel, and the creation and management of a Livestock Feed Emergency Reserve for West Africa.
Since 2016, Fernando has been designing high quality, refreshing beers with the purpose of brewing for a healthy ocean and a better planet.

Gabriel Alheja

Gabriel studied Economics and has an MSc in Business from Carlos III University. He has been involved and in close contact with not-for-profit projects in the Middle East and Africa. He also has experience as an entrepreneur starting a vertical farming project to improve the food system and its impact on health and environment.

He believes it is in everyone's hands to make the world better through our actions and decisions, and he is delighted to be able to do just that through the Ocean Born Foundation and Ocean Beer. He hopes the Foundation will bring awareness and contribute to solve the urgent problems we are currently facing regarding the health of our oceans and planet.
